PROM!!! :)

This past weekend was prom and man was it AMAZING!!! I swear it looked like it came out of a movie! But before I get ahead of myself (which I tend to do sometime), let me tell you about the whole day, because really the whole day was great!

Ok so for those of you that don't know, James Self asked me to prom. Funny little fact: I have now gone to prom with 2 Self boys and one of their cousins. Pretty funny huh? Well anyways ... So James came and picked me up at my house around 1:40 and I had no idea what we were doing for our date! All he would tell me was wear an old swim suit (which thankfully I did!). So on this date their was me, James, Alyssa, Drew, Jennifer, Riley, Mariah, and Caleb. Needless to say it was an awesome group! We ended up riding quads down to the river where we played in the knee deep mud. It was so much fun! We seriously looked like mud monsters! Then they took us home so we could shower, and I'm not joking, I had to wash my hair 4 times to finally get all the mud out!

Before . . .

During. . .

After :)

So we got ready for prom and went to McClellans house for dinner (I hope I spelled that right). It was so yummy! We had stuffed shells :) Then we loaded up in a minnie van, yes a minnie van because were cool like that, and headed off to prom. We arrived and man was it amazing!!! It seriously could have come out of a movie! There was a fake cieling and walls, a photo booth, a great DJ, and amazing food!! We danced the night away and before we knew it, it was over. But it was so much fun and something I will remember for a long time!

So a little while ago my brother Garrett got married. Well I guess it was more a LONG time ago. But still at least I am talking about it now right?

Ok... so my brother ended up getting hitched on March 18, 2011 and let me tell you that was a very weird day for me!! Garrett and I have been very close ever since he got back from his mission (thats right not before his mission! He was very mean before believe it or not). We would hang out all the time and be able to talk about anything. Of course we still messed with eachother, I mean after all we are brother and sister. I was afraid that by him getting married I would lose him. Deveney (the girl he married) is so awesome though! But still. Sitting outside the Snowflake temple with all the little kids, I sat for a while just thinking. Thinking about how it would be between him and I now. Would we still be close? Would we be just brother and sister and not friends? Was I getting replaced? Silly things to think about I know, but what can I say, I am a girl :)

As it turned out I had nothing to worry about. Of course! We are still super close and nothing could change the relationship we have! All those little worries were for nothing! I have learned something about myself through this experiance, and that is sometimes I over think things and I need to just sit back and not worry. There is no point to stress over the little things. Everything will work out the way it is supposed to be. End of story :)

Lesson Learned!

April showers bring May flowers . . . except not really!

Right when I start to think that winter is over and spring is finally here, I have to get proved wrong! Lately it has been around the high 70's to low 80's so you would think that snow would be out of the picture. Well aparently not!!

I wake up Saturday morning to it snowing out side! Yes . . SNOW!! The day before this I was at a track meet in Safford where it was nice and warm and I got a nice little tan. I guess you can never really pridict the weather. It's going to do whatever it wants. But still. . .

I wasn't in the best mood Saturday because for one, I wasn't feeling all that great (I had gotten a super bad cramp at the track meet and it still hadn't gone away), and second I was planning on a nice warm day so that I could go and wash my car, but with snow. . . that wasn't really going to happen. So here I was feeling sorry for myself when my dad walks in with a letter from someone. I got so excited! I forgot about not feeling good and being in a bad mood, because of one simple letter from someone! Its crazy how something so small can change how you are feeling! So my lesson learned? Don't let small things you can't controll, ruin your day! It's not worth it! Just go out and have fun! After all . . the only person who can change your attitude, is you!
